Resolution No. 890 of 1985

In accordance with the provisions of Para. (A) of Article 42 of the Constitution،

The Revolutionary Command Council have decided in their session held on 4.8.1985 the following:

1. The Arab citizen who acquires the Iraqi nationality shall be considered as keeping the nationality of the country that he relates to unless he declares of his clear will to relinquish of his original nationality. He shall be treated inside Iraqi as he is an Iraqi citizen except the cases which are excluded by a special text.
2. This Resolution shall come into force as from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
